Bermuda Dance Academy To Attend Adrenaline Competition

The Bermuda Dance Academy will be traveling to New Jersey to attend the Adrenaline Dance Competition.

Bermuda Dance Academy Owner/Directed by Nikia Manders will be traveling along with members of the Dance Academy.

Manders said, “We are tremendously excited to travel abroad to participate in an international dance event. This will be a phenomenal opportunity for dancers and teachers to learn new choreography, new skills and meet many other aspiring artists.”

“The dance school will participate in the three-day convention/competition with 12 dancers, 4 teachers and 16 family members. Dancers range in age from 8-16 years old and will be competing four different dances –2 hip-hop, 1 modern and 1 jazz dance choreographed by their local teachers.

“Dancers have been training since October 2019 and were required to attend additional classes, learn new choreography, perform in the Christmas Parade and in many other Holiday Performances.

“We are thankful for their supportive parents who have worked diligently to encourage their child reach their goals and who have participated in numerous bake sales and community events to raise funds to support their dancers travel expenses.

“We would like to thank The Bermuda Arts Council and the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda for their generous donations to the school and our travel expenses.

“Bermuda Dance Academy was established in 2015 by Manders and is currently celebrating its 5th Anniversary. The dance school offers a variety of classes such as Intro to Dance, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Acrobatics, Hip Hop and Fit for Life for the Older Adult.
