National Sports Center - Please Obey the Rules

IslandStats.com
Officials at the National Sports Centre (NSC) are encouraging people to ‘please obey the rules’.

“Our mandate is to encourage community participation in the facilities we have, to encourage fitness and health.

“Our four pillars are: Move, Develop, Train and Achieve. We want as many people as possible to enjoy and take advantage of the National Sports Center,” said the NSC Operations Manager, Craig Tyrrell.

“We’ve been seeing an increase of people bringing children with their pedal bikes or prams and going onto the North Field to play.

“Unfortunately, the NSC is not a playground or a park, the North field track and outdoor fitness equipment are provided for recreation and training for the public to use, but the field is reserved for those wishing to book and rent. For that reason, we ask people to stay off the grass.”

“We are also continuing to see people exercising their dogs on-site despite in the past asking them not to. Signs are clearly visible at the entrances to the parking lot and fields.

“We sometimes have security on site depending on events and ask that the public follow their instructions. Their job is to ensure the safety of the visitors as well as the facility.

“We have been undergoing a lot of refurbishment work recently, and we are thankful for the public’s patience.

“We ask that anyone visiting the facility respect the posted signs to ensure that their visit is an enjoyable one and that they respect all other users as well.”
