Four Bermuda swimmers began competing at the Unión Americana de Natación Qualifier in Clermont, Florida.
Emma Harvey, Madelyn Moore, Jack Harvey, and Jesse Washington faced off against some of the world’s elites as they attempt to qualify for major swim meets like the Tokyo Olympics and PanAm Games.
Moore and Emma Harvey competed in the Women’s 50 Long Course Meter Butterfly, Moore finished 4th in a time of 27.35, her time broke the Bermuda Record at the distance set by Harvey who clocked 27.83, back on April 2nd, 2017 during the Scottish Age Group Championships. Harvey touched the wall in a time of 27.98 finishing 6th overall.
Moore and Emma Harvey would also compete in the Women’s 50 Long Course Meter Backstroke, Moore would finish this race in 7th place overall with a time of 29.76, while Harvey finished 9th in 30.03.
The Men’s 50 Long Course Meter Butterfly saw Washington take to the pool, he would finish 24th clocking a time of 25.78.
Jack Harvey would compete in the Men’s 50 Long Course Meter Backstroke, he would finish 9th with a time of 26.95.
