Seven Swimming Medals on the Final Day in Canada

The Final Day of the Mallards Long Course Challenge in Canada saw Bermuda’s six young swimmers back in action.

On Day Three the Bermuda team picked up seven more Medals.

Bermuda swimmers won Gold and Silver during the Girls 10 & Under 50 Meter Breaststroke Daria Desmond won the Gold with a time of 47.01, while Bella Howes was second in 52.06. During the Girls 12 Year Olds 50 Meter Breaststroke Tayla Horan finished 8th with a time of 44.83.

Rhys Insley captured the Boys 10 & Under 50 Meter Breaststroke Gold Medal with a time of 44.45.

Howes won her second Silver Medal on the day when she finished second in the Girls 10 & Under 100 Meter Freestyle clocking 1:16.92. Chelsea Lomas finished 9th clocking 1:21.39 and Desmond finished 17th with a time of 1:25.61. Horan finished 13th competing in the Girls 12 Year Olds 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:10.73.

Insley finished 4th competing in the Boys 10 & Under 100 Meter Freestyle touching the wall in a time of 1:17.91, while Lomas picked up the Bronze Medal finishing third in the Girls 10 & Under 100 Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:28.66, Howes clocked a time of 1:31.81 on her way to finishing 10th.

Desmond won the Girls 10 & Under 200 Meter Breaststroke Gold Medal with a time of 3:36.69, while Insley won the Boys 10 & Under 200 Meter Breaststroke Bronze Medal with a time of 3:35.68.

Abigail Powell competed in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Freestyle finishing 24th with a time of 2:29.39.
