The Bermuda National Athletic Association announced that Caitlyn Bobb will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya to compete in the World Athletics Under 20 Championships.
As she resides in the US she will be traveling from the US to Nairobi this coming Saturday, August 14th arriving in Nairobi Sunday, August 15th. The competition begins on August 17th and completes on August 22nd at the Nyayo Sports Complex.
Bobb will be participating in the 400m where she met the qualifying standard of 54.85. She ran 53.64 at the Bermuda National Championships held July 10th but she had previously met the standard but lowered her time. Bobb's personal best is 52.79 which she ran in June 2019.
Her mother, Dawnette Bobb (Douglas) will be traveling with her as Team Manager/Coach. There will be strict COVID guidelines that all persons attending will have to follow and there will be no spectators in attendance.
Bobb will be competing in the first round heats of the 400m on August 18th at 9:00 am, hoping to go on to the semi-finals on August 19th @ 4:45 pm and the finals to be held on August 20th at 5:20 pm.
