Bobb & Armstrong Qualify for Championships & Nationals

The Bermuda National Athletics Association announced Caitlyn Bobb has met the Qualifying Standard for the World Athletics Under 20 Championships which will be held August 17th - 22nd in Nairobi, Kenya.

Bobb participated in the 2021 Maryland State High School Championships.

Bobb won the Women’s 100m in a time of 12.0, she also won the Women’s 200m clocking 24.37, and she made it three wins in a row winning the Women’s 400m stopping the clock in a time of 53.72.

Bobb’s time of 53.72 in the Women’s 400m qualified her for the World Athletics Under 20 Championships with the standard being 54.85.

Bobb was just outside of the 200m standard with the standard being 24.35.

Bobb also competed in the East Coast Track and Field Championships in New Jersey were she finished runner up in the Women’s 400m in a time of 54.30 with the winning time 54.20.

Bobb's mother, a former Olympian Dawnette Bobb (Douglas) will be traveling with Bobb to Nairobi.

Donna Raynor President of the BNAA said, “We are excited that Bobb will be competing in the Bermuda National Championships July 10th and we will get to see her compete on home soil in Bermuda for the first time.”

Not to be outdone, Nathan Armstrong competed in the East Coast Championships prior to his graduation ceremony winning the Men’s 800m with a new school record of 1.54.38 and also qualified him for the Nike HS Nationals.
