Tiara DeRosa represented Mississippi Valley State University at the 2021 Carey College Challenge.
DeRosa picked up the win in the Women’s Discus Throw with a top toss of 44.42m or 145 feet 9 inches, which was her last attempt.
Of the 23 competitors, DeRosa had the best throw in the first attempt with a distance of 40.56m, she then threw 38.88m, 41.91m, before recording a Foul on her fourth attempt. DeRosa would then record a distance of 44.35m on her fifth attempt, before closing out with the winning toss.
DeRosa would also pick up the win in the Women’s Shot Putt with a top toss of 13.10m or 42 feet 11.75 inches, which was her fifth attempt.
DeRosa was comfortable in the event with distances of 12.16m, 12.13m, 12.98, and then 12.89m, she then recorded the Gold Medal throw before closing out with a throw of 12.77m.
