DeRosa Finishes Second in SWAC Indoor Championships

Tiara DeRosa began competing in the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships inside the Birmingham Crossplex.
The SWAC is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.
DeRosa representing Mississippi Valley State competed in the Women’s Shot Put, she picked up the Silver Medal finishing 2nd with a top toss of 13.21m or 43 feet, 4.25 inches.
DeRosa’s top distance came on her only legal throw, she would record three consecutive fouls trying to catch the winner Hannah White representing Jackson State who recorded a distance of 15.63m.
