Pacers Athletes Heading to Armory Youth Championships

This weekend the Bermuda Pacers Track Club will continue to promote their Track Club’s overseas experiences as they compete in the 2020 Armory Youth Championships in New York.

The event which will be held at the Armory on Monday, February 17, 2020 and will see hundreds of junior athletes from across the region. This event is sponsored by NYRR.

Distance runner and Carifta qualifier Ryan Outerbridge, sprinters Mikal Dill and Koa Goodchild will lead an 18-member team to the Championships. Outerbridge will be competing in the 17-18 Boys 3000 and 1600 meter events, while Dill will compete in the 17-18 Boys 55 meters and Long Jump. Goodchild will be competing in the 17-18 Girls 200 and 400 meters, while another senior member of the team Nhoaa Powell will be competing in the 55 and 200 meters.

In the 15-16 Girl’s Division Jezhari Talbot, a Carfita hopeful, will compete in the 800 and 1600 meters.

In the 15-16 Boy’s Division, Carifta qualifier Kahzi Sealy and his fellow teammates Sancho Smith, Chayse Tanner and Jauza James will compete in the following events 55 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, 1600 meters, 3000 meters, Long Jump and High Jump.

In the 13-14 Boy’s Division the club will have Jaelyn Grant and Joshua Watson who will be competing in the 55 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters and 1600 meters. This will be Watson’s first time representing the club. In the Girls 13-14 Division I’aura Golding and J’naz Richards will be competing in the 55 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and Long Jump.

In the 11-12 Boys Division Daylen Scott, Aaron Lugo and Devin Todd will compete in the 55 meters, 200 meters and Long Jump. This will also be Todd’s first time representing the club. In the 11-12 Girls Division Arima Turner and Jaeda Grant will compete in the 55 meters, 200 meters, 3000 meters and 1600 meters.

The 18-member team will compete in 32 individual events. This will be the second time the club has competed in this event. The team will leave Bermuda on Saturday, Feb 15, and return home on Tuesday, Feb 18, 2020. Accompanying the team will be Pacers Track Club team officials and parents.
