Following proof provided, www.islandstats.com can confirm that Sonya Smith is the Record Holder for the Bermuda National Athletics Association.
In a document published May 15th, 2017 by Abilene Christian University that listed it’s All-Time Top 10 Outdoor Women’s Shot Putt Performers.
According to the website, Smith is listed 9th with a top toss of 14.22m on March 2nd, 1985, which was further than the distance of 13.89 thrown by Tiara DeRosa on June 9th 2019.
Smith also has a 40 year old Carifta Record in the Javelin Throw with a toss of 53.98m, set back on April 20th 1979 in Kingston Jamaica.
