Jessica Lewis won the Gold Medal in the T53 Women's 100m and set a new Parapan Games Record on her way to victory.
Lewis was clocked across the line in a time of 17.36, breaking her time of 17.67 she set back on August 13th 2015 in Toronto.
Lewis after a staggered start, she was able to power ahead of Kelsey Le Fevour from the United States of America, Lewis was able to maintain her speed and crossed the line with Le Fevour clocking a Silver Medal time of 17.81 and Lucero Vazquez from Mexico finished third with a time of 19.15.
Lewis finished the 2019 Parapan Games with 2 Gold and a Silver Medal, speaking to www.islandstats.com after her race Lewis said, “I was extremely nervous before the race, but a sense of calm came over me once I got on the track, despite the wait before the start I just stayed focused.”
