The Bermuda National Athletics Association held their 5th Track Meet of the Season giving athletes the opportunity to meet the Carifta Qualifying standard and also give the athletes from the Special Olympics another opportunity to compete.
Amelia Othman who has already met the Standard for the Under 17 Girls High Jump leaped to the Qualifying Standard again leaping a winning 1.55m or 5 feet 1.00 inch.
With the Carifta Qualifying Standard for the under 17 Boys Long Jump set at 6.60m Chayse Tanner just missed out with a top leap of 6.52m or 21 feet 4.75 inches.
With a leap of 5.06m or 16 feet 7.25 inches saw Za'kayza Parsons just missed the Under 17 Girls Long Jump Qualifying Standard of 5.45m.
Special Olympian Del-Che Landy competed in the Men 400 Meter Dash Open event clocking a time of 1:10.56. Special Olympians also competed in the Men’s 200 Meter Dash Open race as Damon Emery clocked a winning time of 32.72 and Kirk-Kemari Dill finished second in 36.34.
