Dage Minors competed in the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Minors set a new Bermudian National Record in the Men's 800 Meters Finals clocking an Indoor time of 1:47.9, Breaking his own Record of 1:48.7 he set during the Terrier Classic in January 2017.
Minors would then set a Personal Best time while winning the Men’s 400 Meters Finals Section 10, which saw Minors finish 22nd overall stopping the clock in a time of 48.58.
Meanwhile Bermuda Olympian Tyrone Smith competed in the 2018 Canadian Indoor Championships in Montreal.
The Championships were held at the Claude-Robillard Sport Facility with Smith who just this week was named in the Bermuda Commonwealth Games Team competed in the Men’s International Long Jump. Smith would finish on the podium with a top leap f 7.68m which saw him finish behind Jarvis Gotch from the United States who had a winning leap of 7.82m and Jamaica’s Damar Forbes was second leaping 7.75m.
Smith recorded a leap of 7.60m on his first attempt, he would then leap 7.54m, his best attempt came on his third leap hitting the 7.68m mark, before recording a leap of 7.61m on his fourth attempt. Smith would leap 7.46m on his fifth attempt before closing out with a leap of 7.67m.
Following the Meet Smith said, “Finished 3rd today and felt really solid off the take off. The distances weren't there but they are coming.”
