NACAC Age Group Championships Day 1 Round Up

The 2017 edition of the NACAC Age Group Championships got underway at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad.

During the Heptathlon Girls 80 Meter Dash, Za’Kayza Parsons finished second in Heat two with a time of 10.26 that put her 3rd overall, while Selah Tuzo finished 7th in Heat 4 clocking 11.13 that put her 24th overall.

Anaya West won Heat one of the Pentathlon Boys 60 Meter Dash clocking 7.99, which put him in 2nd overall.

West then finished second overall in the Boys High Jump with a top leap of 1.55m.

Competing in the Heptathlon Boys 80 Meter Dash Nirobi Smith-Mills finished 5th in Heat with a time of 10.11, that put him 20th overall, while Sancho Smith finished 7th in Heat 4 clocking 10.22 that saw him finish 22nd overall.

During the Girls Long Jump, Parsons finished 3rd in Flight 1 with a leap of 4.92m, which saw her finish 5th overall, while Tuzo finished 9th in Flight 1 with a leap of 4.41m, which put her 20th overall.

Competing in Flight 2 of the Boys Long Jump, Smith-Mills finished 9th with a top leap of 5.14m, with Smith finishing 10th leaping 5.09m, Smith-Mills finished t21st, with Smith finishing 23rd.

Parsons would win the Girls Shot Put 3kg Heptathlon with a top toss of 9.46m, with Tuzo finishing 19th with a top toss of 6.99m.

Smith finished 16th competing in the Boys Shot Put 3kg Heptathlon with a toss of 10.35m, while Smith-Mills finished 18th with a toss of 10.13m.

West finished 7th in the Boys Ball Throw 400g with a top toss of 46.07m, that placed him 10th overall.
