Seven former Bermuda Pacers athletes were inducted into the Inaugural Bermuda Pacers Track Club Hall of Fame.
At a ceremony held at the Royal Hamilton Amatuer Dinghy Club, Terrylnn Paynter, Leslie Rookes, Terrance Armstrong, Devon Bean, Jay Donawa, Kavin Smith and Brian Wellman were all inducted.
Paynter said, “For the first time I have received an award in Bermuda and I am proud of what I was able to achieve.”
Donawa remembered the Track team started out wearing Red and White, but changed to Yellow and Green which in his words was something that challenged him.
Wellman told the youngster in the crowd, “Don’t every say what if, if you put in the time and train hard, and you do your best, the what if goes out the door.”
