Jah-Nhai Perinchief Answers Questions

IslandStats.com
Last week www.islandstats.com reported that Jah-Nhai Perinchief decided to commit to the University of Arkansas.

www.islandstats.com asked Perinchief a few questions about his choice and sports.

Q. Why did you pick the University of Arkansas over others?

A.
I picked the University of Arkansas because I felt it was perfect for me, it allows be to be committed more without to many distractions. I loved the help that was offered when I visited on the academic side of things. I felt this place takes care of their athletes on and off the track and I felt I'd fit in. Purdue was another big choice for me, but with my choice I feel it fits in with my personal view on my long term goals.

Q. How has your time at Iowa helped you grow in Sports

A.
Iowa has helped a lot because there's constant competition, prior to heading to Iowa I would have to wait until summer to really compete. Competing for Iowa allowed me the chance to compete against most of the school that were recruiting me at Track Meets, so I knew what they had to offer in terms of athletic competition in my events. Iowa definitely has helped me get strong but I know for sure my next school will even get me stronger.

Q. Have you had discussions with your future coaches regarding your ambitions in events such as Commonwealth, Pan Am Games, CAC Games and the Olympics?

A.
Most schools automatically brought up Worlds and Olympics. Funny thing is my mom stressed to Arkansas how important the Commonwealth Games Record would be for me and without a doubt that was a go. They are very lenient and helpful when it comes to international competition, they will contact any organization back home and discuss the benefits for me to compete at any international competitions.
