Continuing their longstanding commitment to supporting the community, Bermuda HealthCare Services proudly announces their Title Sponsorship of the Sir Stanley Burgess 5K Race.

The event will now be known as The Bermuda HealthCare Sir Stanley Burgess 5k Race.

BHCS entered a 3-year sponsorship agreement with Swans Running Club starting with the upcoming race on Sunday, May 1st. This year's race features $5000.00 in prize money to be shared between the first-place male and first-place female adult runners, courtesy of Bermuda HealthCare Services.

Dr. Mahesh Reddy, BHCS Medical Director, said, "We are committed to investing in the community by supporting programs and activities that support health and wellness. This 5K is an integral part of Bermuda's Heritage Month activities. We are happy to partner with the race committee to ensure the future success of this race that is in honor of an iconic Bermudian, Sir Stanley Burgess."

Dr. Ewart Brown, Executive Chairman of BHCS, fondly recalled Mr. Burgess as a childhood hero in Flatt’s stated, "Everybody in Flatt’s was proud when he ran past us with the white handkerchief on his head."

Race Director Christine Joell said, "We welcome Bermuda HealthCare Services and thank them for their 3-year commitment to this important event. The "Sir" Stanley Burgess 5K Race is the last part of Swans Running Club's Annual Legends Series, commemorating three other running legends, namely Ed Sherlock, Ludwig Cann, and Ray Swan. Like the late "Sir" Stanley Burgess, the team at BHCS is committed to excellence and serving the community.

Ms. Joell concluded, "We look forward to collaborating with them to encourage better health within the sporting community and throughout Bermuda."
