Following the cancellation of the Round the Island Power Boat Race, the Commodore of the Bermuda Power Boat Association Robert Cardwell revealed to www.islandstats.com that the 2020 season has also been scrapped.
Cardwell said, “This season has been cancelled, as we have not asked or members for any fees this year.”
“We are looking to make the 2021 season longer with more racing and more social events as well,” continued Cardwell.
Cardwell also announced that the club has built boats to start a Junior programme as well as introducing a Class for anyone looking to get started.
“We have boats for the Juniors and we as a club have been given the authority to have our juniors race in boats with a bigger engine size, we have also designed a class for another engine size for anyone looking to get started in the sport as a much reduced rate,” concluded Cardwell.
