Powerboat Commodore Wellman Steps Down

Word reaching www.islandstats.com is that the Bermuda Powerboat Association Commodore Paul Wellman has stepped down due to health reasons.

Wellman took over the top spot last year and was in the process of trying to turn the sport around.

Many have seen the decline in the sport with fewer and fewer boats racing on regular race days but many showing up on the Round the Island Race.

One visitor to the Association’s Facebook Page stated, “All those who complain about the association, now is your chance to step up.”
