Emirates Team New Zealand came out swinging, much to the disappointment of the Oracle Team USA crowd winning both races on Day Two just like they did on Day One in the 35th America's Cup Final on the Great Sound.
Billed as the rematch in Bermuda Peter Burling and his team started the day one up and came off the water with the lead and the momentum, sending the defending champions into the think tank.
Race One saw Oracle Team USA and Emirates Team New Zealand both get off the start line neck & neck but it was the Kiwis who nudged ahead after mark 1, Emirates Team New Zealand sailed smoothly and held an 11 second over Oracle Team USA at Gate 2.
From there the lead just grew as Emirates Team New Zealand held an advantage over Oracle Team USA of 48 seconds at Gate 4, Emirates Team New Zealand were now flying! they rounded Gate 5, 49 seconds ahead of Oracle Team USA and remained more than 500m ahead at the final mark and sailed home to go up 2 - 0.
The final race of the day saw both teams get off the start line together but it was Emirates Team New Zealand who edged ahead of Oracle Team USA at Mark 1
Emirates Team New Zealand’s impressive speed was in full effect again as they held a 43 second lead over Oracle Team USA at the third gate, heading towards Gate 5 and Emirates Team New Zealand had opened up a 500m lead over Oracle Team USA.
Emirates Team New Zealand headed for the finish line with a minute lead over Oracle Team USA to make it Four wins from Four in the Final.
