Swansea Make A Bid For Wells

IslandStats.com
Nahki Wells hasn't scored a Premier League goal for Burnley but could he shine in the Championship again at Oli McBurnie-less Swansea City?

Forgotten man Nahki Wells could be on his way out of Burnley this summer with the Sun (6 August, page 51) reporting that the striker is a target for Swansea City,

After shining in the lower leagues with Bradford City and Huddersfield Town, Wells was handed his chance in the top tier for the first time on the final day of the 2017 transfer window.

But, perhaps fittingly for a player who features for Bermuda at international level, the 29-year-old went missing at Turf Moor following his £5 million move.

Wells played nine Premier League games without scoring a goal for the Clarets and spend the entirety of last season on loan at QPR, forming an effective partnership with Tomer Hemed to keep the Londoners just about clear of the relegation zone.

According to the Sun, Swansea have offered £2.5 million for a player who netted seven times in 40 Championship games at QPR.

With academy graduate and top scorer Oli McBurnie sealing a £20 million move to Sheffield United, there are big boots to fill at the Liberty and it seems that the Swans have earmarked Wells as the man to step into the breach.

But they will have to raise their bid to tempt Burnley to sell.
