Yesterday www.islandstats.com reported that Willie Clemons was on trials at Bodens BK in Sweden.
www.islandstats.com spoke with Kenny Thompson Football Director of the Bermuda Athletic Association (BAA), the club Clemons was playing for in Bermuda.
Thompson said, “I communicated with Willie over the weekend and he informed me that things are going very well and he is pleased. He went on the say that the team he is currently with plays in the same philosophy as BAA and that they commented on him fitting in as if he had already been there for many years.” Thompson continued, “It was with great pride to hear from Willie that the work with him over the years is benefiting him when he said that “all the concepts are not new to me, had a good football schooling” with regards to our relationship since he was around 10 or 11 years old.” “We are all very proud and supportive of Willie making the most of his opportunity,” continued Thompson.
Thompson concluded, “We miss a player of Willie’s quality in BAA’s promotion objective, but we have a great squad of quality and hardworking players that have not missed a beat since Willie’s departure. The BAA players and coaches are wishing Willie the best in in reaching his football goal and everyone is extremely happy for him.”
