Nahki Wells was an unused substitute as Jack Cork helped heap the pressure on his former manager, Paul Clement, as Burnley swept aside Swansea 2-0 at Turf Moor.
Cork was handed his England debut against Germany last week and continued making memories by nodding home the first goal against his former club, underlining Clement's increasingly curious decision to let him go in the summer.
Ashley Barnes followed up with a rocket of a strike that caught everyone by surprise, handing the upwardly mobile Clarets their third win in a row and plunging Swansea into the kind of relegation trough that leaves managers looking nervously over their shoulder.
REGGIE LAMBE
Reggie Lambe’s teammate Clint Hill's header proved enough for Carlisle to pick up a 1-0 win at Grimsby.
The former QPR defender struck midway through the second half to give Keith Curle's side all three points at Blundell Park.
After a scoreless first half, Carlisle went close after the break when Lambe's cross form the right found Hallam Hope, and the striker's header forced James McKeown to tip the ball over.
There was nothing the goalkeeper could do though when Hill met Gary Liddle's cross from the right, and flicked his header in at the near post to give the visitors the victory.
