There has been a growing concern around Bermuda Football Association clubs with the increase of players wearing electronic monitoring devices or ankle bracelets.
The Bermuda Football Association sought advice on the situation from FIFS and has issued correspondence to all of the Clubs.
In the statement it quotes from Technical Director of the International Football Association Board (IFAB), who is the regulatory authority for the Laws of the Game, regarding players wearing electronic monitoring devices or ankle bracelets during matches.
“The ban on electronic equipment is related to tackling match-fixing and/or unfair sporting advantage etc.. as these ankles devices are, presumably, required by Bermudian Law they thus do not break the spirit of Law 4 in terms of wearing electronic equipment.“
