SHIELD SEMI-FINAL

Young Men Social Club 1 BAA 7


BAA stormed into the Shield Final with a 7 - 1 win over First Division League Leaders Young Men Social Club at the PHC Stadium.

Jahkari Furbert put BAA in front in the 33rd minute when he found the back of the net, the lead was doubled four minutes later when Ian Simmons scored. Robert Rawlins pulled a goal back for Young Men Social Club in the 40th minute as the teams went to the break with BAA leading 2 - 1.

Willie Clemons would put BAA ahead 3 - 1 when he scored in the 49th minute, Simmons would find the net for a second time in the game in the 71st minute making it 4 - 1. Joshua DeSilva would make it 5 - 1 to BAA with a strike in the 86th minute, with London Roberts scoring in the 87th minute to make it 6 - 1. Clemons would close out the scoring with a strike in the 90th minute, the day was not good for Young Men Social Club who ended the match with 9 men on the field with Andrew Samuels sent off for his second bookable offense and substitute Zeiko Lewis who is scheduled to take part in the MLS Combine in a few weeks limping off himself.

FRIENDSHIP SEMI-FINAL

North Village Rams 1 Devonshire Cougars 3


The Devonshire Cougars have made their way into their second Final of the 2016/17 Season having already claimed the Dudley Eve Trophy following this 3 - 1 win over the North Village Rams at the PHC Stadium,

Zari Simmons gave Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 7th minute, as they took a 1 - 0 lead to the half time break.

A blast from the past Domico Coddington doubled the Devonshire Cougars lead in the 60th minute, but ten minutes later the North Village Rams pulled within one when Enyche Zuill found the back of the net.

In stoppage time however the Devonshire Cougars would end the match as a contest when Coddington scored his second goal of the game to earn the Devonshire Cougars a spot in the Final on New Year’s Day at the Wellington Oval.
