Bermuda came close to opening the scoring in the 15th minute when Drewonde Bascome blast wide from the edge of the box after being set up by Jonte Smith, Dominican Republic’s Jonathan Frias had a shot go straight into the arms of Dale Eve and then at the other end Reggie Lambe had a shot saved as the two teams went looking for the opening goal.
In the 29th minute Frias had a shot come back off the upright and one minute later Dominican Republic took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Frais.
Dominican Republic came close to doubling the lead when Rafael Florencio had a shot hit the upright in the 38th minute.
The two teams went to the break with Dominican Republic leading 1 – 0.
The second half proved to more of mistakes and missed changes in the final third as both teams were guilty of not capitalizing on chances.
Neither team was able to beat the opposing goalkeeper as the Dominican Republic would leave Bermuda with a 1 – 0 win much to the delight of their fans.
