FA CUP REPLAY

St. David’s 4 Wolves 2

In this FA Cup Preliminary replay at the Devonshire Rec. it saw St. David’s advance to the next round with a 4 – 2 win over Wolves.

Player/coach Otis Minors opened the scoring for St. David’s when he found the back of the net in the 6th minute. Minors would double the lead when he scored again in the 20th minute. Shea Pitcher gave St. David’s a commanding lead with a goal in the 30th minute, but one minute before the half time break Wolves pulled a goal back through a Mikael Ming strike making the half time score 3 – 1.

The second half saw St. David’s restore their three goal lead when Jamel Woodley scored in the 76th minute, Wolves would score the final goal of the game, as Ming’s second goal would get them within two but it was not enough.

RAI SIMONS

Goals from Nathan Tyson, Andy Williams and Cameron Stewart ensured a miserable return to the Keepmoat Stadium for former Doncaster boss Dean Saunders as Rai Simons and his Chesterfield side were sunk 3-0 by their local rivals.

Two goals in the space of eight second-half minutes from Tyson and Williams did the damage, with substitute Stewart adding a third in stoppage-time as Chesterfield slipped to a third straight defeat.

Simons a starter on the bench made his way onto the pitch in the second half, but could not find the back of the net.

REGGIE LAMBE

Reggie Lambe and his below-par Mansfield teammates went without a goal for the sixth time in seven games as they were sunk by first-half goals in a 2-0 home defeat by Exeter.

It was also a third home defeat in four League Two outings for Adam Murray's men as they tamely surrendered to Exeter without really testing goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik.

Mansfield had beaten Hartlepool 3-1 on Saturday, but produced a pale shadow of that performance.

Although they had more of the ball in a poor first half, Mansfield went in at the break two goals in arrears.

Lambe started the match but was substituted in the 57th minute.
