Serious injury isn't something that anyone would wish upon a player, quite the opposite in fact, as Liverpool youngster Joao Teixeira has been ruled out of the rest of the season at least after scans revealed he has broken his leg.
The midfielder, who has been on loan at Brighton, was playing in their 0-0 draw against Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates at the Amex on Tuesday night.
Teixeira's challenge on Wells resulted in him suffering this injury. it also earned him a yellow card as he was carried away to literally add insult to this considerable injury!
Teixeira will now return to his parent club, with Brighton boss Chris Hughton hailing his impact on his side.
Huddersfield's official twitter feed, Huddersfield Town @htafcdotcom, sent a message of support to the 22-year-old shortly after the game.
'sorry to hear of Joao Teixeiras's injury, and best wishes from everyone at HTAFC.'
This was followed up by Wells himself, who also expressed his sorrow at the injury and wished him well as the Portuguese winger begins his long road to recover.
