Antwan Russell is staying at Mickleover Sports for another month – but his Bermudian striking partner, Lejaun Simmons has returned to Ilkeston. Sports, who head to Carlton Town tomorrow, are keen to keep hold of Russell, who joined them on loan last month. Meanwhile, manager Glenn Kirkwood has recalled Martin Smythe from Borrowash Victoria and he should be in the squad tomorrow – should the fixture beat the weather. Carlton have yet to play at home this year, while Mickleover have not played an Evo-Stik Division One South game since January 18, when they lost 1-0 at Newcastle Town.
Kirkwood said: "It's frustrating for everyone and we've asked the lads to be as professional as possible with regard to keeping themselves fit. "We have been working them hard during training and, should tomorrow's game go ahead, hopefully, that will show on the pitch. "Everyone is in the same situation; there's nothing you can do about the weather. "We're fortunate in the fact that we've played a few more games than everyone else, so won't have too much of a back-log."
