The YAO Baseball season continued at the YAO Ball Park in St. George’s.
Cal Ripken Division (Ages 10-12)
Red Sox 12 Mets 11
The Red Sox came back from behind with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.
The Sox were powered at the plate by Tucker Champion and Preston Halpin who combined for 7 hits at the plate while John Fontanetta had 2 strikeouts over the last two innings.
The Mets were led by Marcus Furbert who had 3 hits including two inside-the-park home runs and Remy Cahill who had four strikeouts on the hill.
Blue Jays 12 Phillies 11
The Blue Jays show great determination and teamwork earning a 12 – 11 win over the Phillies.
The Blue Jays got good performances from several players including Finn Peters’ inside-the-park home run and Hayes Ingham’s clutch three-run double in the bottom of the sixth. Kylen Richard’s strong pitching for the Jays in the fifth and sixth innings helped secure the victory.
The Phillies had a solid team effort with notable offensive contributions from Charlie Szakmary, Shane Reardon, and Grayson Tavares and sharp pitching by James Kenahan.
