Aberdeen answered with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 3rd inning, Hickory replied to a single run in the bottom of the inning with the team's level at 4 – 4.
In the 5th inning, Aberdeen scored a run, but Hickory scored twice to take a 6 – 5 lead, and then both teams would score a run, to make the final score 7 – 6.
