Adam Hall and his Delmarva Shorebirds teammates started strong but faded fast as the Charleston RiverDogs busted the game open late to win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
Dalton Lehnen collected the win for the RiverDogs. Out of the bullpen, Lehnen fired 3.1 innings, allowing just one run on a hit and a walk while striking out six. Ryan Wilson was dealt the loss for the Shorebirds. Wilson went five-plus innings and was tagged for five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three.
Down 2 – 1 a two-run fifth pushed the Shorebirds back in front. Hall lashed a single to open the frame and Johnny Rizer forced him to second with a walk. Ferguson proceeded to line a single to left, scoring Hall and pushing Rizer to third. Ogren then blooped a base hit to center to score Rizer as Delmarva retook the lead 3-2.
Hall racked up his 35th multi-hit game of the season for the Shorebirds, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
