Following an intensive spring break training regimen at the prestigious SVB Tennis Academy in Tampa, Florida, rising tennis star Jadon Spriggs showcased his newly honed skills by securing victory at the UTR Level-Based Tennis Tournament held at the Casely Tennis Academy in Miami, Florida.
In an exhilarating journey to the championship, Spriggs, who celebrated his 15th birthday during the tournament week, demonstrated resilience and determination on the court.
The quarterfinals proved to be a test of nerves as Spriggs faced off against Canadian contender Fidel Ruff, prevailing with a hard-fought victory 4-1, 5-4 (10-8).
Building upon his momentum, Spriggs proceeded to dominate his Semi-Final match, dispatching Colombian opponent Tomas Arias with a commanding 4-0, 4-1 win.
Growing in confidence and using the invaluable lessons learned during his brief training stint at SVB Tennis Academy, Spriggs entered the Final poised for success.
Spriggs outmaneuvered Mexican challenger Areli Morales in straight sets, clinching the title with a resounding score of 4-1, 4-0.
Reflecting on his victory, Spriggs attributed his success to the training received both locally from his coaches and the instructions acquired at SVB Tennis Academy.
“I was feeling good about my game since I went to a Tennis Academy the week before. I was just practicing what I learned from the academy during the tournament, which led me to win,” remarked an elated Spriggs following his championship victory.
Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association President, Michael Wolfe commented. “We are always proud of our youngsters when they compete and do well overseas. We are all excited for Jadon and wish him much success.”
