Shelby Madeiros and her University of Siena Women's Tennis teammates will soon be back for the 2021 season with much anticipation.
After having their traditional season in the spring cut short due to the continuing health and safety concerns surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Saints are now scheduled to hit the ground running with their slate of 2021 matchups.
Madeiros and her Siena teammates are slated to get their season underway on the road in a matchup with the UConn Huskies on Saturday, March 13th. They will also feature a road match at Providence on March 27th before playing their home debut on Sunday, March 28th against the Binghamton Bearcats at Tri-City Fitness in Latham.
Siena’s remaining home matches at home for the women will be against Monmouth on April 17th and Niagara on April 18th, while their road schedule consists of matches at Marist on April 3rd, Quinnipiac on April 10th, and Fairfield on April 11th.
The MAAC Semi-Final and Championship rounds will be held on Saturday, April 24th, and Sunday, April 25th in Princeton, New Jersey.
The top four teams in the league will be participating in the tournament in Princeton.
The Siena women's squad returns the likes of junior Meagan Brown, and seniors Kylie Mullaney and Nanea Perkins – players who all competed in the top three spots in the lineup the previous few seasons. The likes of Maanya Viswanath, Anastasia Koniaev, and Petra Miszczak will all compete for spots in the starting lineup along with newcomers Emma Boggiali and Madeiros.
