Tennis has been the only competitive sport all week on the island, with the FINAL DAY becoming important to others.
In the A Division Final Simons was able to come from behind to defeat Phillips in a match that left the fans feeling overwhelmed.
Phillips won the first set 7-6, in a tie-breaker, but Simons the number one Men’s player in Bermuda would level the match at 1 – 1 when he won the second set 6-3. Simons would then show why he is the number one player when he was able to defeat Phillips in the third set 6-2.
Phillips would pick up a title win as he would return to the court for the Under 16 Boy’s Final, Phillips would defeat Vincent Boisvert in straight-set 6-2, 6-1, while Charles Boisvert would win the B Division title after he defeated Jovan Whitter in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
