Daniel Phillips has recently relocated to the UK and picked up a win in his first LTA Grade 3 Open Tournament playing at The Woking Tennis & Croquet Club.
Phillips playing in the Final took on the tournament’s number 3 seed and they battled in a marathon three-set battle.
Phillips won the first set 4-2, but he would fall in the second set by the same score. Phillips would then have to dig deep to win the third and final set 10-8.
Phillips said following the victory, “Thank you to Sam Maybury for being my life coach and foundation... I prepared himself with the school of thought that Sam has taught me over the years.
I want to also salute the South West London team for all of the hours and energy the team has put in over the past month. A special thanks to Jordan Correia who warmed up with me for his match today and sat on the side with brother and mom holding the Bermuda flag.”
