The 25th Trinity Players of the Week of 2019-20 has been selected, and with the cancellation of the 2020 Trinity College Spring Sports seasons, we are honoring our spring senior student-athletes.
These athletes were denied the opportunity to compete in their final collegiate season by the COVID-19 outbreak, but have handled the incredibly unfortunate and disappointing situation with the courage and grace that makes us proud to name them as Trinity College Players of the Week.
This week's honorees are men's tennis senior co-captains Courtland Boyle and William Frigerio who were both set to lead the team in a promising spring season after strong play in their first three years and in the fall of 2019.
Trinity Athletics created the Trinity College Players of the Week award to spotlight two outstanding student-athletes who have performed at an extremely high level while representing the Bantams in varsity sporting competition.
Boyle was 1-1 in singles and went 1-2 against some of the Nation's Best Doubles competition this Fall.
He represented Trinity with sophomore partner Ross DeRose as the top Trinity College players Doubles team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Northeast Regional Championships at Colby College in late September.
Boyle started every season as a Doubles Specialist and competed in 49 Varsity Doubles matches.
He was also slated to start as a singles player this spring due to his outstanding play in the winter practices.
Boyle was an ITA and a NESCAC All-Academic Honoree as an economics major at Trinity.
A graduate of Taft School in Connecticut, he is the son of Megan and Courtland Boyle.
