Hafnarfjordur W 6 Fram W 2
A stunning second-half hat-trick from substitute Nia Christopher inspired FH Hafnarfjordur to a breathless comeback victory over Fram in the Iceland Women’s Premier League.
The hosts looked to be in trouble at the break after a double from Fram forward Taylor Hamlett wiped out Ingibjorg Magnusdottir’s early opener. However, the introduction of Christopher at halftime completely transformed the contest, sparking a ruthless five-goal blitz that left the visitors shell-shocked.
Magnusdottir had given the home side the perfect start after fifteen minutes, but the joy was short-lived. Fram responded just four minutes later through Hamlett, who then struck again just before the interval to turn the match on its head and hand the visitors a surprise lead.
Hafnarfjordur manager reacted decisively during the interval, bringing Christopher on to replace Berglind Hlynsdottir, and the tactical switch paid immediate dividends.
It took the Bermudian international just four minutes to draw her side level with a clinical finish. Buoyed by the equalizer, Christopher struck again just past the hour mark to restore Hafnarfjordur's lead and shift the psychological momentum entirely.
The floodgates opened from there. Helena Errington extended the advantage only four minutes later, before turning provider or finding the net herself late on to grab a well-deserved brace and make it five.
Christopher then put the gloss on a magnificent individual performance deep into stoppage time, converting a penalty to seal her hat-trick and round off a dominant afternoon for the hosts.
