Norre Robinson continued his transition to the outdoor season, helping Louisiana Tech to a podium finish in the relay at the prestigious Clyde Hart Classic in Waco, Texas.
Competing at the home of Baylor University, Robinson once again proved his value to the Bulldogs' sprint unit. The freshman standout took the lead-off leg in the Men’s 4x100m relay, delivering a clean exchange to set the tone for a blistering performance. The Louisiana Tech quartet stopped the clock in 41.04 seconds, a time fast enough to secure a hard-fought third place in a field stacked with elite regional talent.
Earlier in the day, Robinson returned to the blocks for the individual 200m dash. In a heavily congested field that featured over 40 of the South’s top sprinters, he navigated the curve to finish 29th overall with a time of 22.16 seconds. While the time was slightly adrift of his wind-aided season opener in Baton Rouge, the performance served as another vital building block as he adapts to the demanding collegiate outdoor schedule.
The results in Waco mark another consistent outing for the young Bermudian, who has quickly established himself as a reliable fixture in both individual and relay events for the Bulldogs. With a relay medal now in his luggage, Robinson and his teammates will look to carry this momentum forward as they prepare for the heart of the Conference USA schedule.
For Robinson, the focus remains on refining his drive phase and maintaining his top-end speed over the half-lap. As the Bulldogs continue their tour of the major Texas meets, the freshman's ability to deliver under pressure suggests there is plenty more to come in the final months of the campaign.
