Clean Sheet for Trott & Scoring Start for Wells in Action-Packed Day

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott continued his exceptional form between the sticks as Cardiff City secured a dominant 4–0 victory over Doncaster Rovers at the Eco-Power Stadium. The Bermudian goalkeeper was largely untroubled throughout the afternoon, but his composure helped anchor a Cardiff side that looked clinical on the road. The result marks Trott’s 12th shutout of a stellar season, further cementing his reputation as one of the most reliable custodians in the league.

In League One, Nahki Wells wasted no time in making his mark for Luton Town during their trip to Vale Park. The veteran striker ignited the visiting support in the fifth minute, ghosting into the box to provide a clinical finish and give the Hatters an early lead. However, Port Vale proved to be resilient hosts, drawing level in the 29th minute. Despite sustained pressure from Luton in the closing stages, the two sides ultimately shared the points in a 1–1 draw.

Further down the pyramid, Kane Crichlow was part of a rampant Chelmsford City performance at the Plainmoor Grounds. Taking on Torquay United in the National League South, Chelmsford delivered a ruthless attacking display to dismantle their hosts 5–0. Crichlow’s movement and creativity were central to a victory that keeps Chelmsford firmly in the promotion hunt.

It was a more difficult afternoon for Milan Butterfield and Halesowen Town. Traveling to the Woodside Park Grounds to face Bishop's Stortford, the Yeltz struggled to find their rhythm in a cagey affair. A single goal proved to be the difference as Halesowen fell to a narrow 1–0 defeat. Similarly, Ajani Burchall began the afternoon on the bench for Wimborne Town as they hosted Dorchester Town. Despite a late push after Burchall’s introduction, Wimborne were unable to overturn the deficit and went down 2–1 at the Wyatt Homes Stadium.

In the Isthmian League, Coolridge Fubler was named in the starting eleven for Binfield FC’s clash with Egham Town at The Runnymede Stadium, while Remi Coddington was held in reserve on the bench. In a see-saw battle that saw both sides trade the lead, Binfield ultimately ended up on the wrong side of a 3–2 scoreline.

There was better news for Zhani Burgess, whose Quorn FC side enjoyed a fruitful trip to the Quattro-Tech Stadium. Facing St Ives Town in a Southern League 1 match-up, Quorn dictated the tempo from the outset. Burgess played a key role in the midfield engine room as his side eased to a comprehensive 4–1 victory, ensuring a successful road trip for the Leicestershire club.
