After an eventful first two days of pool play at the 2025 Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men’s U19 XVs Tournament in Mexico, Bermuda and Trinidad & Tobago, both having experienced close matches earlier in the competition, squared off in the 5th Place Final.
It was Bermuda who emerged with a dominant performance, securing a convincing 36-7 victory. The Bermudians established their authority in the first half, with Rowan Stewart, Michael Barclay, and Jahkeel Smith all crossing the try line. Brandon Sangster added two crucial conversions, helping Bermuda to a comfortable 19-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw Bermuda continue their offensive prowess. Further tries from Ramsey Souter and Jahkeel Smith extended their lead, and Sangster added another conversion to seal the comprehensive win.
The result provides a positive end to the tournament for the young Bermudian squad, who will take confidence from this strong showing as they look ahead to future competitions.
