The Bermuda Football Association’s Women’s Division season kicked off at the Clyde Best Center of Excellence Field tonight, with the Somerset Lady Trojans securing an opening day victory over the PHC Lady Zebras.

The Somerset side got off to a strong start, establishing a comfortable lead before the half-time whistle. Katherine Bean-Rosario opened the scoring for the Lady Trojans in the 19th minute, giving her team the early advantage. Just four minutes later, Symira Lowe-Darrell doubled their lead, sending Somerset into the break with a 2-0 cushion.
The Lady Trojans continued their dominance in the second half. Twenty-five minutes into the half, Lowe-Darrell found the back of the net again, extending Somerset's lead to 3-0 and securing her brace.
The PHC Lady Zebras kept fighting and managed to pull a goal back in stoppage time through Jasmine Spence. However, it proved to be a mere consolation as the final whistle blew shortly after, confirming a 3-1 victory for the Somerset Lady Trojans in the season opener.
This result marks a positive start to the campaign for the Somerset Lady Trojans, while the PHC Lady Zebras will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. The Women's Division season promises more exciting encounters as the teams vie for supremacy.
