Saltus Grammar School emerged victorious in the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Boys Basketball Final, overcoming a determined Somersfield Academy side by a score of 29-23.
Saltus's Most Valuable Player (MVP) Cruz Butterfield led the charge for his team, scoring an impressive 15 points. He was well supported by Chaz Edmead and Harrison Estwanik, who each contributed 5 points to the Saltus tally. Despite a strong effort from Somersfield Academy, their challenge fell short. Somersfield Academy MVP Jace Davis led all scorers with 16 points, while Jack Bull added 6 points for the runners-up.
In the Girls' Final, Mount Saint Agnes Academy successfully defended their Middle School Girls Basketball title in a closely contested match against Somersfield Academy, edging out a narrow 9-8 victory.
MSA's MVP Kyra Simmons led her team to victory, scoring 4 crucial points. The Somersfield Academy MVP also contributed 4 points for her team, with Kate Pursell adding 3, but it wasn't enough to overcome the defending champions.
The finals showcased the talent and competitive spirit within Bermuda's Middle School Basketball programs, with both Saltus Grammar School and Mount Saint Agnes Academy celebrating well-deserved championship victories.
