The Nashville Sounds, despite outhitting the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, suffered a defeat with a final score of 5-2 at First Horizon Park on Thursday night. This loss ended the Sounds' three-game winning streak.
The Sounds' offense started strongly, continuing their trend of early scoring. Jorge Alfaro drove in his fifth RBI in the last six games, giving Nashville a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Adam Hall then contributed to the early lead. In the second inning, Hall doubled home Anthony Seigler, who had himself led off the inning with a double, extending Nashville's advantage to 2-0.
Memphis, however, began to claw their way back into the game. They scored their first run in the top of the third inning with a two-out, RBI single by Michael Helman off Nashville's right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski.
The game remained close until the final innings, when Memphis mounted a significant rally, scoring seven runs to ultimately secure the victory.
Hall's performance at the plate was a positive for the Sounds:
Hall went 2-for-4 in the game. He contributed 1 RBI.
Despite the loss, the Sounds' offense showed promise, outhitting their opponents. However, the Redbirds' late-game surge proved decisive. The Nashville Sounds now hold a record of 5 wins and 6 losses on the season.
