Montverde Academy Athletes Compete Strongly at Florida Relays

Miles Outerbridge, Arima Turner, and Ellise Dickinson represented the Montverde Academy Track and Field team at the renowned Florida Relays, which took place at the Florida-Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Florida.

The Florida Relays is a prestigious event, attracting top athletes and teams, providing a high level of competition.

Outerbridge's Near-Record Performance

Miles Outerbridge competed in the Men’s 100m Dash, where he finished 5th. Outerbridge delivered a potentially record-breaking performance, clocking an impressive time of 10.40 seconds. However, the wind reading of 2.2 meters per second exceeded the legal limit of 2.0 meters per second, meaning the time could not be officially recognized as a record.

Outerbridge also contributed to the Montverde Academy Men’s 4x400 Relay team, which finished 16th with a time of 3 minutes and 18.77 seconds.

Turner and Dickinson in Relay Events

Arima Turner showcased her relay prowess, running the second leg for the Montverde Academy Women’s 4x100m Relay team. The team secured a strong second-place finish, clocking a time of 45.64 seconds.

Ellise Dickinson participated in the Women’s 4x400m Relay, running the first leg for Montverde Academy. The team finished 12th with a time of 3 minutes and 54.22 seconds.

The Florida Relays provided a valuable platform for the Montverde Academy athletes to compete against top-tier competition. Outerbridge's near-record performance in the 100m was a standout achievement, while the relay performances of Turner and Dickinson demonstrated the team's speed and coordination.
