Hall & Sounds Fall to Stripers in Extra-Innings Thriller

IslandStats.com
The Nashville Sounds, with Adam Hall starting in left field, were edged out 2-1 by the Gwinnett Stripers in a tense extra-innings clash played in front of 4,681 fans at Coolray Field.

The game was a tight contest, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock through the regulation nine innings.

The scoring finally began in the top of the tenth inning when the Sounds took a 1-0 lead. Jorge Alfaro hit a sacrifice fly to center fielder Eddy Alvarez, allowing Caleb Durbin to cross the plate.

However, the Stripers responded immediately in the bottom of the tenth. Garrett Cooper's single, a soft fly ball to right fielder Garrett Spain, brought in a run, and a subsequent fielding error by right fielder Spain allowed Cody Milligan to score, leveling the game and forcing it into the eleventh inning.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the eleventh inning. A throwing error by pitcher Blake Holub on a pickoff attempt allowed Luke Williams to score the winning run for the Gwinnett Stripers.

Hall's contribution to the game was primarily on the defensive side, as he started in left field. His performance at the plate was:

Hall went 0 for 3.
He drew one walk.
He struck out once.

The game was a closely fought battle that ultimately went the way of the Gwinnett Stripers.
