The 2025 Goslings Moongate Tour teed off under a brilliant sun at the iconic Port Royal Golf Course, with Dwayne Pearman emerging victorious in the season's inaugural event.
Pearman navigated the challenging layout with a solid round of 1-over par 72, showcasing his experience and composure. His scorecard, featuring three Birdies, 11 Pars, and four Bogeys, proved enough to secure the top spot in a tightly contested field.
Scott Roy finished a close second, carding a 3-over par 74. Roy's round was characterised by consistency, with 14 pars, but a Double Bogey and two further Bogeys ultimately proved costly. A lone Birdie provided a highlight, but it wasn’t enough to catch the steady Pearman.
The battle for third place was fiercely contested, with three golfers – Chris Smith, Chaka DeSilva, and Kenny Leseur – all finishing with rounds of 5-over par 76. Their scores highlighted the difficulty of the Port Royal course, which tested the players' precision and strategic thinking.
Tariqah Walikraam delivered an impressive performance, finishing as the leading female golfer and securing seventh place overall. Her round of 7-over par 78, featuring a Birdie, 10 Pars, six Bogeys, and a Double Bogey, demonstrated her skill and resilience. Walikraam's strong showing will undoubtedly inspire other female golfers throughout the tour.
The opening event of the Goslings Moongate Tour has set the stage for an exciting season, with players now looking ahead to the next challenge.
