The Bermuda School Sports Federation's Senior School Track & Field Championships Preliminaries took place at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center.
The Under 16 Boys 200 Meter Run Preliminaries saw Zydon Lightbourne Furbert of Warwick Academy take the top spot with a time of 25.98 seconds. Cayden Spencer of CedarBridge Academy (28.47) and Norico Furbert of Berkeley Institute (27.42) also secured their places in the final.
In the 3000 Meter Run Finals, Jeada Grant of Saltus claimed Gold in the Over 16 Girls category (12:33.33), followed by Carina Bortoli of Somersfield Academy (12:37.34) and Elanna Fulton of Warwick Academy (15:39.28).
Sanchez Smith of Saltus won Gold in the Under 16 Boys 3000 Meter Run (10:20.41), with Gianluca Bortoli and Jasper Lau, both of Warwick Academy, taking silver (10:22.99) and bronze (10:56.17) respectively.
Aaron King of Berkeley Institute secured Gold in the Under 16 Boys High Jump (1.58m), edging out Daniel Morris of Saltus (1.58m) on countback, while Saezjhor Dent of Saltus took Bronze (1.55m).
Tatiana Sousa of Warwick Academy won the Under 16 Girls Discus Throw 1kg Gold Medal (26.94m), with Rachel Kelly of BHS (19.88m) and Zelaye Showers of Berkeley Institute (19.66m) securing Silver and Bronze respectively.
The stage is now set for the Finals, scheduled for Friday, March 14th, at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium, where the athletes will battle for championship glory.
