Facing a must-win situation after Puerto Rico's earlier victory over the Cayman Islands, Bermuda found themselves trailing at half-time after Stephanie Hunte gave Saint Vincent and the Grenadines a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute.
However, Bermuda emerged from the break with renewed determination. Coach Gary Adams made three changes at half-time, bringing on Evans Welch, Milan Gibbons-Thomas, and Azae Burrows. These substitutions proved to be decisive.
In the 60th minute, substitute Welch levelled the score, injecting new life into the Bermuda attack. Just two minutes later, Gibbons-Thomas gave Bermuda the lead, capitalising on a scoring opportunity to make it 2-1.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' hopes suffered a further blow when Rebekah John received a second yellow card, reducing them to ten players. Bermuda took full advantage, extending their lead through Avani Patton in the 78th minute.
Gibbons-Thomas then added her second goal of the game in the 84th minute, putting the result beyond doubt. Keyandae Lightbourne completed the scoring in the 89th minute, securing a 5-1 victory for Bermuda.
This impressive comeback victory sees Bermuda top Group A on goal difference, level with hosts Puerto Rico. A draw against Puerto Rico in their final group match on Friday will be enough for Bermuda to secure top spot and progress to the next stage of the competition.
