Damian Palanyandi braved the blustery conditions at Tucker's Point Club to claim victory in the Bermuda Golf Association's January Monthly Medal.
Despite gathering winds as the afternoon progressed, golfers managed to complete a full 18 holes, with Palanyandi emerging triumphant with an impressive 1-under par 69 to secure 1st Gross honours in the Men's 1st Flight. Mark Ray finished in second place, six shots back with a 5-over par 75.
In the Men's 2nd Flight, newcomer Lamont Marshall, a familiar face in Bermuda's road running scene, made a strong impression on the golf course. He carded a 12-over par 82 to claim 1st Gross honors on retrogression, edging out veteran Miles Stephens, who also finished with a 12-over par round.
Elizabeth Carpio led the way in the Ladies flight, finishing atop the leaderboard with a 10-over par 80. Tracy Burgess secured 2nd Gross honors, five shots back with an 85.
In the Junior Division, Fletcher Logie claimed 1st Gross honors', with Cole Graham finishing five shots behind to secure the 2nd gross spot.
Palanyandi's impressive performance in challenging conditions highlights his skill and consistency. The January Monthly Medal provided an exciting start to the golfing year in Bermuda, with players across all divisions showcasing their abilities despite the windy weather.
